For many women around the world, menopause has become an experience to reckon with. Even though not all women claim to experience menopause, there is a vast majority who suffer from its symptoms and effects. Now, more than ever, the search for the perfect treatment has come to a head. For many, there is nothing like medical treatment to help with the experience. For years, hormonal replacement therapy as a treatment for the symptoms of menopause was widely accepted. Certain studies however have pointed out that the therapy may not be thoroughly beneficial. Natural Supplements
As with a lot of other conditions, herbal supplements have also been suggested as possible ways to help ease the symptoms of menopause. These herbal remedies claim to help with increasing estrogen and progesterone levels. They may also purportedly claim to help improve bone density and alleviate stress, irritability and depression. The effects may differ for each woman and may depend on the type of herb taken. Herbal plants which may be used as supplements are black cohosh, red yam, clover, dong quai, sage, agnus castus. It is also believed that one can have a menopause supplement based entirely on natural fruits and plants that can be ingested as is. Examples of such are licorice and pomegranates.
Caution should be exercised in choosing a menopause supplement. Product claims can be flashy and attractive, but they may not be for you. Not all supplements will work for every woman. In some cases, women have reported that they feel no better or that their symptoms have grown worse. Others however, claim that they really have experienced some relief. The safe thing to do is to consult your doctor before even considering any menopause supplement.
